After a heroic battle with cancer, Timothy D. Hopkins, age 50, of Elyria, passed away at home, surrounded by his family on Friday, August 23, 2013. He was born December 3, 1962 in Berea, to Billy and Ella Hopkins.
He graduated from Elyria High School in 1981, worked as a bricklayer and was a 24 year member of the Local 5 Bricklayers Union as a Foreman. He worked on numerous projects, including the Browns Stadium, Elyria Public Library, and the Lutheran Hospital.
He was an avid fisherman, boater, and craftsman. He loved being on Lake Erie, spending time with his family and friends, and lending a helping hand to anyone he could.
He was the husband of 26 years to Linda S. Hopkins (Davis); father to daughters, Nicki (Kenny) Prince, Chandel (Scott) Dusenbury, Tara (Justin) May, and son, TJ (Andrea) Hopkins; Papa to beloved grandson, Noah Prince, twin grandsons, Garrett and Gavin Dusenbury; twin granddaughters, Emma and Ella Prince and future grandbabies; brother to Greg Hopkins; family and friend to numerous others.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 P.M., Saturday, August 24, 2013, at Busch Funeral Home, 32000 Detroit Road, Avon. A Celebration of Life service will be at the funeral home Sunday, August 25, 2013 at 2 P.M. Pastor Bob Wickens, of Church of the Open Door, and Pastor Thom Cody, of Elyria Church of God, will officiate.
