9:01 a.m. — 200 block Connecticut Drive, theft of approximately $25 in loose change from two parked vehicles. The complainant caught the incident on a home security camera. The first suspect was a black male in his 20s, with shoulder-length dreadlocks, a light blue hat, gray shirt and blue jeans. The second was a black male wearing a red shirt.
5:56 p.m. — 100 block Brunswick Drive, vehicle damaged.
Friday, Aug. 23
12:58 a.m. — 500 block Clark St., Brandon Woody, 20, of Lorain, and Mark A. Woody, 19, of Elyria, cited for underage drinking.
1:43 a.m. — 100 block Warren Ave., Isidro Z. Casarez Jr., 52, of Elyria, served an outstanding warrant through Lorain County Sheriff’s Office and cited for disorderly conduct.
5:48 p.m. — Elyria police station. Katie Duress, 33, of Elyria, served an outstanding warrant.
Saturday, Aug. 24
12:07 a.m. — location unknown. Johnny H. Hawthorne Jr., 41, of Elyria, charged with possession of drugs and served a secret indictment for felony nonsupport of dependents.
3:21 a.m. — location unknown. Sheldon F. Chambers, 51, of Lorain, charged with possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and contempt of court.
7:07 a.m. — location unknown. Thomas A. Prentiss, 44, of Elyria, charged with disorderly conduct-intoxication.
Tuesday, Aug. 20
7:00 p.m. — 1000 block W. 20th St., a man said his neighbor always plays loud music. When he told the neighbor to turn it down, his neighbor called him racial slurs.
7:24 p.m. — 1800 block Broadway, a man came into Family Dollar and started to put items into a “Dora the Explorer” bag he brought with him. Police recognized the man from the surveillance tape.
11:06 p.m. — 2800 block W. Erie Ave., a woman said her son left the house without permission after she and he got into a fight. The woman said her son hit her and threatened her. Police found the son at his grandparents’ house.
Wednesday, Aug. 21
9:21 a.m. — 3000 block Pearl Ave., a man said he arrived at his store to find the steel latch guard on the front door of his business loose with pry marks surrounding it. No entry was made.
2:28 p.m. — 4400 Riverside Drive, a woman reported $700 of narcotics stolen from her locked box of medicine.
Thursday, Aug. 22
12:16 a.m. — 900 block W. 20th St., a man saw another man he knew running away from his house. When he went to his car, he found his window broken.
9:15 a.m. — 2100 block G St., a woman said when she went to her parked car at 6 a.m., compartments were open and her purse was missing from the car.
7 p.m. — 1900 block E. 30th St., a man said the windows in an apartment he rents out were broken and the apartment was torn apart. He thinks it was done by the two residents who he evicted from the apartment a day earlier.
7:39 p.m. — 1000 block W. 18th St., a man said a child hit his son with a pipe. The child said it was accidental but the man said he wanted to “teach him a lesson” by calling police.
9:38 p.m. — 4300 block Leavitt Road, a Wal-Mart employee said another employee was lowering prices for her friends and family at Wal-Mart.
10:48 p.m. — 3700 Clifton Ave., a woman saw a man running away from her car that was parked in her garage. She found that the window in her car was broken.
Friday, Aug. 23
12:02 a.m. — 1500 block North Lakeview Blvd., a man was screaming and cursing outside after drinking. His father said he also kicked and punched his house.
3:00 a.m. — 332 W. 29th St., a woman came home at 2:30 a.m. and saw her television was missing and there were open windows in her house.
