Daniel H. Volk, 58, of Columbia Station, formerly of Elyria, passed away at his residence Saturday, August 24, 2013 following a lengthy illness. He was born in Elyria on September 4, 1954 and was a resident of Lorain County for most of his life.
Mr. Volk was a graduate of Elyria High School. He was formerly employed at the Whirlaway Corporation in Wellington. Mr. Volk was an artist and he enjoyed painting. He also enjoyed playing golf and he loved his dogs.
He is survived by one daughter, Delilah Burgess of Lorain; one son, Daniel H. Volk, Jr. of Lorain; four grandchildren; one sister, Sherri McIntyre of Amherst; one brother, William Volk of Quincy, Massachusetts; his fiancee, Peggy Harrell of Columbia Station; and by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dorothy (nee Eddington) Volk; by an infant sister, Dodie Volk; and by one brother, Gerald Volk.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 28, 2013 from 5 P.M. until the time of the funeral service at 7 P.M. at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Road (at Stoney Ridge Road), North Ridgeville. Rev. Mark Oster will officiate the service.
