Carolyn Delaney (nee Kozopas), 89 years of age, and a resident of Lorain, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Monday, August 26, 2013 at Kingston of Vermilion, following a full life. She was born September 13, 1923 in Lorain. Carolyn was a lifetime resident of Lorain, graduating from Lorain High School in the class of 1942.
She was employed as an IBM keypunch operator at Lorain Products for 15 years, retiring in 1973. Carolyn was an active member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Lorain.
Survivors include her sons, Marlin H. Linger of Lorain, Roger Lee Linger of Anchorage, Alaska; her daughter, Leslie Stone of Lorain; step daughter, Cheryl Nimon of Lorain; grandchildren, Chad and Kalli Stone, as well as many step grand, and great grand grandchildren; her sister, Rose Hencheck, all of Lorain.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her first husband of 10 years, Howard Linger in 1959, and by her second husband of 30 years, Hank Warren Delaney in 2003; step son, Warren Delaney in 2003; and step daughter, Lucy McGee in 2004; sisters, Mary Matchinson, Ann Pasky, Kay Washio, and Sally Jenkins; and her parents, Demytro and Rozalia Kozopas (nee Radyk).
Friends may call Thursday, August 29, 2013, from 4 to 6:30 P.M., at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held the same day as visitation at 6:30 P.M., at the funeral home. The Reverend Tom Shumate, Pastor of The Gathering Community Church in Elyria, will officiate. Graveside services will be held Friday, August 30, 2013, at 11 A.M., at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
