Joan Diann Springer, 74, of Wellington, died Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at the New Life Hospice Center in Lorain. She was born August 2, 1939, in Brunswick, to the late Ray Perry and Ruth (nee Dent) Heath. Joan grew up in Elyria and later moved to the Wellington area.
Joan was a member of the Housewives of America and enjoyed gardening and canning. She collected milk glass, and liked to paint and do liquid embroidery.
Joan is survived by her children Charles “Chuck” Donald Springer, Jr., Diann Louise Hetman, and Cynthia Ann Kelley; six grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Donnie, Carol, Ruthie, Linda, Shirley, and Gary.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Charles, Sr.; as well as siblings, Alice, Patty, Ray, Ralph, Thelma “Pudge”, Kitty, Betty, and Rita.
Friends and family will be received Friday, August 30, 2013, from 6 until 8 P.M., at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St., where services will be held Saturday, August 31, 2013, beginning at 11 A.M. Burial will follow at Pittsfield East Cemetery.
