Julius W. Zajac, 91, of Bay Village, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at The Renaissance in Olmsted Falls, following a long illness. He was born in Cleveland and had been a resident of Bay Village for the past 50 years, moving from Parma.
Julius was the co-founder of several local companies including Zalo Manufacturing; Manatrol Inc. aka Perry-Fay, which later was acquired by Parker Hannifin; Vectron and Zaytran. He was past president of International Artware Company in Twinsburg. He enjoyed playing golf, Bridge and swimming.
He was a member of Bay United Methodist Church, Elyria Country Club, Wyndemere Country Club in Naples, Florida and several Bridge clubs.
Survivors include his son, James Zajac of East Hampton, New York; daughter, Jean Zajac of Annapolis, Maryland; and brother, Theodore (Patricia) Zajac of Westlake.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean in 1992; parents, Stanley and Zofia (nee Polak) Zajac; and brother, Edward Zajac.
Friends may call Friday, August 30, 2013, from 6 until 8 P.M., at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Graveside service will be held Saturday, August 31, 2013, 9 A.M., at St. Mary’s PNC Cemetery, Parma, followed by an 11 A.M. service at Bay United Methodist Church, 29931 Lake Rd., Bay Village.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
