Lorain blotter: Man says handgun stolen from truck

Friday, Aug. 30

  • 1:20 p.m. — 2100 block W. Erie Ave.., a man said someone entered his truck and stole his handgun.
  • 1:50 p.m. — 5300 block Leavitt Road, a woman entered Super Kmart and put items into her purse. She was stopped by security after she tried to leave without paying for the items.

Saturday, Aug. 31

  • 12:54 a.m. — 4100 block Cambridge Ave., a woman said she woke up around 12:30 a.m. and her house window was smashed and two pieces of cinder block were lying on her floor.

    On the bright side, your average thieving auto burglar is a more responsible gun owner than someone dumb enough to leave a gun in an unattended vehicle.
