One man was hospitalized after a head-on collision Wednesday morning on near 1609 W. Erie Ave. in Lorain.

David Joseph Ambers, 22, of Lorain, was driving a 1990 Buick LeSabre westbound on West Erie Avenue at 8:20 a.m. when he went left of center and struck a 1997 Ford F-150, driven by William Acevedo, 35, of Lorain, according to Lorain Police Sgt. Allan Cornwell.

There were two juvenile passengers in Ambers’ vehicle.

Acevedo, Ambers and the two juveniles were transported to MercyRegionalMedicalCenter in Lorain for injuries sustained in the accident.

Ambers was treated and released, according to Mercy. Acevedo’s condition was not immediately available. Names and conditions of the juvenile passengers were not available.

Cornwell said the accident is under investigation, but alcohol or drugs were not suspected. Both vehicles were towed from the scene Wednesday.
