Oberlin, Wellington crime watch: Woman charged with theft of lemon juice, butter


Oberlin police

Saturday, Aug. 24

  • 8:08 p.m. — 100 block W. College St., Rebecca Wedge, 29, 100 block E. Lorain St., arrested and charged with theft for allegedly stealing lemon juice and butter from Gibson’s Bakery.

Sunday, Aug. 25

  • 10:25 p.m. — 200 block S. Pleasant St., reported theft of a mini-refrigerator from a property. Police stopped two suspects in a tan Chevy Blazer who admitted to taking the refrigerator, and they led officers to a laundromat where they left it. The owners of the mini-refrigerator declined to pursue charges, as they were happy the item was returned.

Sunday, Aug. 25

  • 6:35 p.m. — 200 block W. Herrick St., Benjamin Benton, age unavailable, Burbank, was cited for driving under suspension and operating an unsafe vehicle after a traffic stop when the officer noticed the vehicle’s windshield was cracked. Corey Nau, age unavailable, New London, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of dangerous drugs.

Friday, Aug. 30

  • 5:13 p.m. — 100 block Hale St., unruly 14-year-old girl. Her mother called the police after the girl refused to listen when told she could not see her friend.
