Elyria blotter: Resident reports home broken into, cash missing

Friday, Sept. 6

  • 7:26 a.m. – 1000 block Middle Ave., a family who was in the process of moving from the residence because of a bed bug infestation noticed various tools missing from the garage.
  • 8:39 a.m. – 800 block Thornwood Blvd., a man reported that his home had been broken into while he was at the store. When the man returned home, he noticed that someone had gone upstairs and pulled clothes out of the master bedroom closet. One dresser drawer in the bedroom was opened and $400 in cash was missing. The man stated he found a snow shovel taken from underneath the back deck that had been used to pry open the sliding glass door.

Saturday, Sept. 7

  • 12:48 a.m. – East River Street, James Conrad, 44, 1 Tattersall Court, Elyria, charged with two counts of assault.
  • 2:02 a.m. – 700 block Georgetown Ave., David Dolin, 31, same address, charged with domestic violence after an incident at his house.
