One injured in 3-car crash in front of golf course

ELYRIA — One person was injured in a three-vehicle crash Friday morning on Oberlin-Elyria Road.

The crash occurred at 10:37 a.m. in front of Forest Hills Golf Course.

Dakota Tomusko, 23, of Elyria, went left of center in a 2000 Hyundai Accent and went partially under a passing tractor-trailer, hitting the truck’s back tires. Tomusko’s vehicle then spun out and “barely grazed” an SUV before coming to rest on the side of the road, according to Trooper Joe Glascox of the Ohio Highway Patrol’s Elyria post.

Tomusko was transported to EMH Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, Glascox said. No one else was injured.

According to an EMH Regional Medical Center spokesperson, Tomusko was later discharged from the facility.

Tomusko was not wearing a seatbelt, and alcohol was believed to be a factor in the crash, Glascox said. He was charged with left of center, seatbelt violation and operating a vehicle impaired.
