Roads to be closed in downtown Elyria for Apple Festival

ELYRIA – Traffic patterns in downtown Elyria will be disrupted this weekend because of the 2013 Apple Festival.

Starting at 10 a.m. Thursday, the following streets will be closed: Middle Avenue between Broad and 3rd streets; and 2nd Street between Middle Avenue and Court Street. Court Street will be closed as well, although it will remain open to bank traffic only.

Two-way traffic will be allowed on 2nd Street between East Avenue and First Place Bank’s drive and West Avenue to City Hall’s drive.

Parking will be prohibited on both sides of 2nd Street between Court Street and West Avenue.

At 5:30 a.m. Sunday, Broad Street will be closed between East and West avenues, and between East Avenue and Cedar Street for the Apple Festival Car Show.

Broad Street traffic will detour south and north on East Avenue, and south and north on West Avenue.

Normal traffic patterns will resume at 11 p.m. Sunday.
