Helen Sexton (nee Hardwick), 74, of South Amherst, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Amherst Manor Nursing Home, following a short illness. She was born June 6, 1939 in Kidder, Kentucky where she was raised. South Amherst had been her home since 1966. Her primary focus in life was that of being a homemaker. Helen loved animals, especially squirrels and birds.
Survivors include her son, Robert Paul Sexton of South Amherst; her daughters, Linda Sexton of South Amherst and her companion, Tom Vortruba of Mentor on the Lake; Connie LaCook and her husband, Jayce Renner of Cleveland; her brother and his wife, Lee and Geradine Hardwick of Somerset, Kentucky; her sisters, Marie Morrow of South Amherst, Frieda Casada and her husband, Marvin of Oberlin, Lois Dick and her husband, Waldo of South Amherst and Bonnie Turpin of Kidder, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Raymond Paul Sexton on January 2, 2003; her brothers, Estel, Cecil, Glenn, Larry and Teddy; sisters, Opal Owens and Barbara Hoskins; and her parents, Hobert and Clella Hardwick (nee Young).
Services were held privately by the family.
