Critter Chronicles: Annie

Annie is one lucky dog! On June 21, she was transferred from another shelter, so she could be placed in a one of Friendship APL’s foster homes. Annie was pregnant and it would be best for her if she delivered her pups in a home environment. On July 22nd, Annie did produce 5 puppies (3 male, 2 female). During the delivery process, the foster caregiver realized that Annie was having a very difficult time, so she took Annie to a veterinarian. Annie received the medical care she needed. She and her pups returned to foster care later the same afternoon. Again, Annie is one lucky and now very healthy dog!

Annie is shy, easily-frightened and seems to be afraid of men. But once she relaxes, she is very happy and playful. Annie loves to fetch a small toy for you to throw again and she enjoys running in circles. She is content to sit on a lap and watch TV too. Annie’s new family will need to be patient and give her a few months to settle down and to get used to a new routine. Annie is very shy around anyone she does not know. She is crate-trained and house trained.

If you would like to meet Annie, please either call the shelter 440-322-4321 to leave a message for Mary or send an email to: to arrange a time to meet Annie, because she is in a foster home.
