William Edward Peck, 26, of Oberlin, finished his race and went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday, September 17, 2013 at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. He was born June 18, 1987 in Buffalo, New York and was a 2008 graduate of Elyria High School.
He was a resident of the Starbuck Home of Echoing Lakes and a member of First Baptist Church of LaGrange. Bill was employed at Rising Sun Centers in Vermilion and to his delight an honorary member of LaGrange Fire Department.
Bill is survived by his parents, Michael and Karen Peck of Elyria; siblings, John (Brenda) of Severn Run, Maryland, Jo-Ann (Winfield) of New Milford, Pennsylvania, Jean (Michael) of Port Crane, New York, Jeremy (Christina) of Wellington, Melissa of Panama, New York, Jay and Wally of Jamestown, New York and Rachel (Joshua) of LaGrange; he is also survived by nieces and nephews who loved their “Uncle Bill”; as well as cousins and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey in 1988.
The Muscular Dystrophy Bill experienced throughout his life, would have caused many to give up and live in despair; not Bill. He was an example of patience and certainty about his relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Bill knew the Lord and the absolute confidence of Heaven awaiting him.
Friends will be received Friday, September 20, 2013 from 5 to 8 P.M. at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. You are invited to a celebration of Bill’s life Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 11 A.M. at First Baptist Church of LaGrange, 200 Church St., LaGrange. Bill’s father, Dr. Michael Peck and brother, Pastor Jeremy Peck will preside. A private committal service will follow at River Road Cemetery, LaGrange Township, with Reverend Noel Hack officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of LaGrange or LaGrange Fire Department, 353 South Center St., LaGrange, OH 44050.
