Annasue Elease Abercrombie (nee Carter), 90, of North Ridgeville, went to be with the Lord Thursday, September 19, 2013. Her joy for life and unwavering faith carried her through many years in her valiant battle with breast cancer.
She was born July 23, 1923 in Mosheim, Tennessee, to Manlove (Doc) and Minnie Carter. Her early adult years were spent in Cincinnati, where she met her husband. Anna had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1974 and had previously lived near Allentown, Pennsylvania. Throughout her life, Anna maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many. Known for her ease of conversation, even with total strangers, Anna affected many by her witness and constant faith in God. In recent years, she had been attending North Ridgeville Baptist Church and was a long standing member of Elyria Baptist Church.
She was the wife of the late John P. Abercrombie. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Anna is survived by one daughter, JoAnn Abercrombie of Avon; two sons, John G. Abercrombie (Connie) of Fogelsville, Pennsylvania and Gary A. Abercrombie (Marcia) of Cary, North Carolina; and six grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday September 23, 2013, from 5 to 8 P.M., at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. The funeral service will be Tuesday, September 24, 2013, 11 A.M., at the funeral home. Reverend Gerald Flury, Pastor of North Ridgeville Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
