Elyria police investigating after shots fired Friday night

ELYRIA—Police are investigating reports of shots fired in the city Friday night and early Saturday morning.

Police Capt. Chris Costantino said shots were fired near Paul’s Beverage Warehouse on Lake Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Friday. No one was hurt, but multiple shots were fired.

Costantino said the shooting is under investigation, and it is unknown if the shooting is related to another incident on Bohannon Court later in the night.

At 1:30 a.m. Saturday, officers were called to Bohannon Court for a large fight in the street. Sgt. TomWade said
shots were fired, but no one was hit nor were there any shell casings found on the ground.

Police are still investigating who fired the shots, but two people were arrested in relation to the fight.

Doshia Killings and Eugene Dennis were charged with assault, according to Wade.

Wade said there were no weapons found in the area, and no major injuries were reported.

“It sounded like it was just a disturbance that got out of hand,” he said
