Janet Miranda, 32, of Lorain, allegedly told Lorain County Sheriff’s deputies that she drove herself drunk to jail because no one else would drive her. Police said she admitted to drinking two shots of liquor with whipped cream and had taken a Xanax pill and a Percocet pill before driving, although she does not have a prescription for Percocet.
Miranda smelled of alcohol and her speech was slurred when she arrived at Lorain County Jail at 1:30 a.m., according to a sheriff’s report. Police said her vehicle was parked in the public parking lot for the jail, slightly in the grass, and it was taking up two spaces.
Miranda’s breath test registered a blood-alcohol content of 0.079, but the results of a urine test were unknown at the time of the report.
