Saturday, Sept. 7

  • 3:09 a.m. — 200 block N. Main St., a fight broke out after a man bent over to pet another man’s dog. The dog owner told the man not to touch the dog and then pushed him. Others joined in the fight, and also began hitting the man’s girlfriend. Both declined medical treatment.

Sunday, Sept. 8

  • 5:33 p.m. — Village Market, a customer pushed a cart filled with paid groceries out of the store. However, loss-prevention officers were watching her and noticed she put two items in her purse that she did not remove and pay for with the other items. Officers arrived and learned that the woman put two packets of Oscar Meyer baked-cooked ham valued at $5.78 in her purse. She told officers she accidentally put them in her purse. The loss-prevention officers were watching her because she was a suspect in a recent theft of steaks from the same store. She was banned from Village Market and all Apples stores.

Wednesday, Sept. 11

  • 1:09 a.m. — 300 block Walden Lane, a welfare check was conducted after a father could not get in touch with his daughter. Officers arrived at the home of the daughter, and learned that she had been at a baseball game and arrived home late, which irritated her husband. Her husband then took her phone and threw it. The woman told officers that her husband then found the phone and was looking for text messages. The woman informed officers she felt safe in her environment despite her husband’s temper.
