Gloria Bennett (nee Walker), 75, of North Ridgeville, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at her residence, following a long illness. She was born in Wheelwright, Kentucky on July 12, 1938 and was a graduate of Wheelwright High School.
Mrs. Bennett had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1970. She did clerical work at the former Joseph & Feiss Company in Cleveland for five years. She was a homemaker for many years and she enjoyed cooking and baking. Mrs. Bennett also enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and she babysat other children in her home for 17 years. She was a member of Cleveland Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ross E. Bennett; one daughter, Ginger Diane Harmon (Gary) of Queen Creek, Arizona; one son, Heath Edward Bennett of North Ridgeville; three grandsons, Kyle Ross Bennett, Tyler Edward Bennett and Ryan Hunter Bennett; and by one brother, John Walker of Mosheim, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Daisy and Furman Walker; four sisters, Audrey Huth, Ruth Marie Childers, Pauline Vanover and Helene Hall; and by two brothers, Larry and Bobby Walker.
The funeral service will be Monday, September 30, 2013, at 11 A.M., at Cleveland Baptist Church, 4431 Tiedeman Rd., Brooklyn, where the family will receive friends from 10 A.M. until the time of the service. Reverend Luke Brown will officiate. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
Memorial contributions are suggested to either the church or to Hospice of the Western Reserve.
