Lois Ethel Hutchison (nee Squires), 92, of Oberlin, passed away Friday, September 27, 2013 at her home, following a brief illness. Lois was born November 9, 1920 in Oberlin. She was raised and lived nearly her entire life in Oberlin.
Lois worked as a Supervisor for GTE Telephone in Oberlin for 18 years, after which she was employed as an assembly worker for Gilford Industries of Oberlin for 17 years. She was a member of East Oberlin Community Church. Lois volunteered at Oberlin Senior Center and Oberlin Hospital, (Allen Memorial). She enjoyed boating with her husband. Lois loved traveling and especially treasured her trip to England in 1993. She and her husband have been to all the Presidential Libraries through out the United States.
Survivors include her son, Thomas Hutchison of Elyria; daughters, Donna Hutchison of Oberlin and Bonnie Frederick of Wellington; five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Clinton “Tom” Hutchison; sisters, Eleanor Kasper in 1999 and Dorothy McVeigh in 2000; parents, Clarence and Ethel Squires (nee Hills); and her brother, Robert Squires.
Friends and family are invited to attend graveside services Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at 11 A.M. at the Westwood Cemetery, Oberlin.
