During the Depression in the ’30s, she left high school to work, and then later received her high school diploma in 1970. She worked at General Motors on the assembly line, the Lorain ship yards and also in the cafeteria at Bay Village High School for 12 years. She enjoyed baking and music.
She in survived by her four children, Constance (William-deceased) Petersen of Rocky River, Gary (Patricia) Golinski of Seven Hills, Walter Mintus of Elyria, and Carol Mintus of Avon; eight grandchildren, Kirsten (Leonard) Gibel, Christopher (Dusty) Petersen, Michael Petersen, Erik Petersen, Clairessa (Mark) Rozmarynowycz, Bridget Cogar, Gus Golinski, and Julie Golinski; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Walterine Mize, and Theodora Muzilla; and one brother, Henry Klekota.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edmund Golinski (1952); second husband Walter J. Mintus (1983); son, Allen Golinski; sisters, Wanda Blazina, Lottie Rusnack, Theresa Klekota; and brothers, Edward, Ted, Harry, and Walter.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 2, 2013, from 4 until 8 P.M., at the Misencik Funeral Home, 36363 Detroit Rd., Avon, where closing prayers will be Thursday, October 3, 2013, at 9:30 A.M., followed by a 10 A.M. Mass, at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Parish, Avon. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
