At least four people were displaced by a fire at the Tower Regency Apartments, 1021 Tower Blvd., around 3:45 a.m. Sunday.
The fire began in Apartment 204 of the three-story, 12-unit building, according to Assistant Fire Chief Dennis Livchak. The complex is between Falbo and Oberlin avenues.
When firefighters arrived about three minutes after being called, Livchak said some residents were climbing down ladders placed against the building by residents or Good Samaritans. No residents were hurt in the fire that took about 10 minutes to control and was extinguished around 4:50 a.m. A firefighter received a second-degree burn to his wrist.
The fire spread from the second floor to the third floor and roof before being extinguished. The blaze, which is under investigation, caused about $100,000 in property damage and $40,000 in damage to belongings.
