Man finds ammunition for pistol near Family Dollar: Elyria Police blotter

The following information was taken from Elyria Police Department reports:

  • Sunday, Oct. 6:

9:40 a.m. — 100 block Lake Ave., Terrence Taylor, 40, 1500 block Paine St., Lorain, arrested and charged with resisting arrest, obstructing official business and possession of cocaine. Police said Taylor, wanted on domestic violence and driving violation warrants, was spotted in a car in a parking lot. They said he scuffled with officers when they tried to handcuff him.

12:37 p.m. — 600 block N. Abbe Road, a woman said she argued with her ex-boyfriend, who is moving out, over possession of a computer. She said her boyfriend’s sister intervened and choked her, pulled her hair and punched her. Police said the boyfriend and his sister were gone when they arrived.

2:23 p.m. — 300 Michigan Ave., a woman said someone burglarized her home between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. while she was at church. She said a camera, coins, jewelry, a gun safe, a semiautomatic pistol and  two computers were stolen. She said the burglar or burglars may have entered through her dog door.

5:14 p.m. –Police Department, 18 West Ave., a man said he was walking by the old Family Dollar building on Lake Avenue when he found a magazine for a semiautomatic pistol on the ground with an extra bullet near the magazine. Police said the 9 mm clip had 15 bullets in it and the extra bullet was a 9 mm round.

  • Monday, Oct. 7:

12:56 a.m. — Police Department, 18 West Ave., a man said his grandson told him the all-terrain vehicle he loaned him had been stolen for the second time in a year, but he thinks the story is fishy.

    Why no mention of the 3 gunshots in the S Abbe area Saturday night. They arrested someone for it apparently.

      Where at on South Abbe and what time?

    Wasn’t necessary on S Abbe, but we hear 2 shots, then a third shot from S Logan about 11:00 ish. From the sound of it I would guess it was South and West of S Logan and Stanford
