Elyria blotter: Woman sees man trying to kick in son’s door

The following was taken from Elyria Police reports:

Monday, Oct. 7:

  • 7:30 p.m. — 100 block Floral Court, a woman said her house was broken into because her window was broken and jewelry and her television were missing.
  • 11:30 p.m. — 500 block Bell Ave., a woman said her friend stayed over, and when she woke up he was gone, along with her medication.

Tuesday, Oct. 8:

  • 7:05 a.m. — 800 block Wilder Ave., a woman told police that someone had broken into her garage overnight.

Wednesday, Oct. 9:

  • 12:55 a.m. — 800 block Boston Ave., a woman told police she awoke to someone trying to kick in her son’s door. He was black, wearing black clothing and around 5 feet, 7 inches. She said he ran out of the house quickly.

    Okay, if the woman saw a man trying to kick in her son’s door, that means he hadn’t gained entry yet. But the next statement she made was he ran out of the house quickly????? How did he run out if he hadn’t gotten in yet?????????
