WATCH: Sex offender’s bond set at more than $3 million

ELYRIA – James Osborne’s bond soared to more than $3 million at a hearing this morning before Elyria Municipal Court Judge Gary Bennett.

Osborne, a 34-year-old registered sex offender, was already jailed on bonds totaling $1,075,000 for allegedly violating his probation in a child pornography case and for allegedly failing to register a change of address and tampering with records.

His girlfriend, Heather Koon, 25, is being held on a $2 million bond for allegedly raping a 1-year-old and a 2-year-old at ABC Kidz Child Care in Elyria, where she had worked until March. Prosecutors have said she committed the sex crimes at the behest of Osborne.

Lorain County Sheriff’s deputies and county probation officers found images of the alleged molestation on electronic devices seized from Osborne on Sept. 26 and arrested Koon on Oct. 4.

Koon faces two counts of rape, while Osborne is charged with two counts of complicity to rape.
