Charles A. Hahn

Charles A. Hahn, 76, of Elyria, passed away October 4, 2012. He was born May 6, 1936 in Cleveland, the son of Elllsworth Charles and Mary C. (Gavin) Hahn.

He was a 1954 graduate of St. Ignatius High School and graduated from John Carroll University in 1958. Charles worked as an investigator for the U.S. Office of Personnel Management for over 30 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and managed the men’s softball team for many years. He also coached many of his sons’ sports teams and was an avid sports fan. After he retired, he spent many days with grandchildren and enjoyed going on gambling trips. He married Rosanne E. Cinadr in August of 1956, and they later divorced.

Survivors include eight children, Charles Hahn of Calgary, Canada, Patricia Janowicz (David) of Elyria, Richard Hahn (Pam) of Amherst, Mary Harrison (Todd) of Lawrence, Kansas, Joseph Hahn (Suzanne) of Elyria, David Hahn (Sharon) of Westminster, California, Lori Hahn of Lawrence, Kansas and Michael Hahn of Elyria. Other survivors include four siblings, Marilyn Summers (Donald) of Cleveland, Roberta Duffy of Indianapolis, Indiana, Thomas Hahn of The Villages, Florida and Richard Hahn of Brunswick; nine grandchildren, Charles Alex Hahn of Denver, Colorado, Alexis Hahn of Lawrence, Kansas, Katherine Janowicz of Elyria, Dominique Hahn of Westminster, California, Megan Janowicz of Elyria, Andrew Hahn of Lawrence, Kansas, Kevin Hahn of Elyria, Lauren Hahn of Elyria, and Matthew Harrison of Lawrence, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Patrick Hahn.

The family will greet friends Thursday, October 17, 2013, from 6 until 8 P.M., and Friday, October 18, 2013, 9 until 11 A.M., at the Zabor Funeral Home, 5680 Pearl Rd., Parma (between Ridge and Snow), with the Memorial Service to follow Friday morning at 11 A.M. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials, in his name, to the Alzheimer’s Association.
