Dorothy E. Belden, 97, of Belden (Grafton Township), passed away at her home Monday, October 14, 2013, following a short illness. She was born October 20, 1915 in Cleveland and had lived over 70 years in the Grafton area.
She was a member of the Belden United Methodist Church and had attended several local senior citizen’s groups. She was a 60 year member of the Neighborly Sunshine Club of the Red Cross, past president and member of the Eagle’s Auxiliary #431 in Elyria and was a member of the Belden Quilt Club. She had attended Baldwin Wallace College for three years.
She is survived by her great niece and nephew, Mark and Diana Lutz of Columbia Station; and by her great great niece, Staci Lutz of Dublin, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Dorothy Whelen; her first husband Howard in 1957; second husband Horace “Honk” Belden in 1982; niece, Peggy (Charles) Lutz; great niece, Pamela (Ronald) Mayville; great great nephew, Timothy Lutz; and by two sisters.
Friends may call Friday, October 18, 2013 in the Belden United Methodist Church, 36130 State Route 303, Grafton from 11 A.M. until services at 1 P.M. with Pastor Jeff Lanzer officiating. Burial will be in the Belden Cemetery, Grafton Township.
Arrangements were handled by the Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home, 1021 Main St., Grafton.
