Marjorie A. McKitrick (nee O’Brien), 77, of Elyria passed away peacefully Wednesday October 16, 2013 following a long illness. She was born September 6, 1936 in Elyria. She was a 1954 Elyria High School graduate.
Marjorie was a registered nurse and graduated Cum Laude from LCCC. She was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Marjorie was on the original Jeopardy Show hosted by Art Fleming. She enjoyed time with her family, reading, history, travel, and cooking.
Survivors include four daughters, Robin L. Crane (Gary) of Elyria, Susan L. Myor (Joe) of Sheffield Village, Gail A. Kasper (Dave) of Amherst, Amy J. Malloy (Sean) of Avon; a son, John W. McKitrick (Angela) of Amherst; additional survivors include eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Caitlin, Emily, Kara, Kevin, Erin, Kelly, Declan; and two sisters, Carol Sparks (Ernest) of Elyria, Janice Grahl of Hagerstown, Maryland.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Albert L.; her parents, Robert and Edith (nee Cooper) O’Brien; and a sister, Nancy Patterson.
Family will receive friends 4 to 7 P.M. Friday, October 18, 2013 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria (440)322-4626 where closing prayers will be at 9:30 A.M. Saturday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 A.M. Saturday, October 19, 2013 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 1878 Abbe Rd. Sheffield Village, OH where Rev. Fr. Edward J. Smith, Pastor will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Teresa of Avila Cemetery.
