David graduated from Rhodes High School in Cleveland. He was employed as an Auto Mechanic for 40 years. David was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, attending at the East Elyria congregation. He enjoyed roller skating and collecting classic cars.
Mr. Hitz is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Mona (nee Dumford); and two grandchildren, Kaley Monaghan and Quentin Millis; as well as other family members. Exceptional lifelong relationships to note are his dear friends, Sally and Andy Couch and David and Janet Beckley and Madelyn and Paul Witsberger.
David put forth the love and effort in relationships that earned his right to the title of “Uncle Dave” to many throughout the years. It is these non-familia relationships that truly defined what family meant to David. You are all held dearly in his heart, whether he saw you just yesterday or even if some time has passed.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 P.M., Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the East Elyria Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 39099 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria. Elder Joshua Couch will officiate.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Busch Funeral and Crematory Services, Elyria.
