Wilbur R. Burnham, 87, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2013.
“Bill” was finance director in the city of Berea and later in Rocky River, before serving as controller at Oregon Bible College in Oregon, Illinois. Bill and his wife, Marion, lived for several “retirement” years in Florida, before moving to McDonough, Georgia. He was first a member of the Columbia Station Church of God, and most recently a member of the Cornerstone Bible Church in McDonough, Georgia. For several years, even up to a couple of weeks ago, Bill enjoyed reupholstering furniture for family and friends. He especially enjoyed his work for the benefit of the local Salvation Army store; reupholstering furniture that couldn’t be sold into furniture that could easily be sold. He also loved to play games of pinochle–as often as possible.
He was the beloved husband of Marion (nee Hitchcock); loving father of Gary B. Burnham (Lori), Scot C. Burnham and Karen A. Fletcher (Jeff); dear grandfather of 17; and great-grandfather of four; and brother of Elta Strausser.
Funeral Service will be Monday, October 21, 2013, 11 A.M., at Baker-Osinski-Kensinger Funeral Home, 206 Front Street, Berea, 44017, where friends may call Sunday, October 20, 2013, from 5 until 8 P.M.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Sacred Journey Hospice, 138 Peach Dr., McDonough, GA 30253.
