Grace Neal (nee Hill), 83, of Amherst, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013, at Golden Acres Nursing Home, Amherst, after a three year illness. She was born April 21, 1930 in George Township, Pennsylvania, to the late Donald S. and Helen E. (nee Swaney) Hill.
Grace moved to Ohio with her family in 1952. She resided in Amherst since 1971. In 1992, she retired from Moen Corporation, Elyria, where she had been employed for 30 years. She was an inspector for several years and in the last few years she was working in the steel division. In retirement, Grace enjoyed travel. She visited Europe, Australia, Hawaii, and Alaska. Grace enjoyed blue grass music and hand quilting. In the past, Grace was also the financial secretary of the United Auto Workers in Elyria.
Survivors include six children, Donald (Christy) Golden of Elyria, Ronald (Francine) Golden of Lehigh Acres, Florida, Susan (Jerry) Emery of Elyria, Rickey (Melissa) Golden of Amherst, William Golden of Cleveland, Timothy (Sabrina) Golden of Vermilion; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred (James) Taylor of Carrolton, Texas; and her companion, John Shover of Huron.
In addition to her parents, Grace was preceded in death by her husbands, Marshall Golden (1991) and Earl Neal (1996); and her great-granddaughter, Alexis Markowich (2006).
Family will receive friends 6 until 8 P.M., Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst.
