Arcenia “Cenie” Marshall

MarshallArceniaArcenia “Cenie” Marshall, 89, of Oberlin, died Saturday, October 19, 2013, at St. Anne’s Hospital in Westerville, after a short illness. She was born November 27, 1923 in Oberlin.

Arcenia passed away in Columbus after a short illness. She was a life long resident and worked at U.S. Steel during WWII and also worked at Muller Packing Co. and Lorain County Detention Home, where she and her husband, Charles, were supervisors. Arcenia was a past member of Willard B. Holmes Post#656 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo, watching Cleveland Indians, Browns, Cavs, Notre Dame and Ohio State Buckeyes.

She is survived by her sons, Charles L. Marshall II, Duane Marshall, Gilbert Marshall, all of Oberlin; daughters, Penny Smith of Columbus, Kirsten (C) Womacko of Lakewood; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Marshall I; mother, Valley Robinson; father, Marshall Wooten; son, Kenneth Marshall; and brother, William Wooten.

A visitation will be held Thursday October 24, 2013, from 6 until 8 P.M., at the Cowling Funeral Home in Oberlin. Private family burial will be at a later date in Westwood Cemetery.
