ELYRIA — An Avon man accused of stabbing his girlfriend in the head has been indicted on felonious assault and domestic violence charges.
Lonnie Sherrill, 58, is accused of attacking Tina Nagy during an argument in August. Police have said they recovered the knife, which has a nearly 5-inch-long blade, from the scene.
In a search warrant police argued that “Sherrill was the only person who had the opportunity and motive to commit this act of violence.”
Defense attorney Anthony Baker has said Sherrill maintains his innocence.
