ELYRIA — A pursuit that began around 6:40 p.m. Thursday in the 400 block of Concord Avenue ended on Sugar Ridge Road in North Ridgeville, police said.

The chase began after police responded to a “suspicious condition,” according to Elyria police Sgt. Richard Ellis, who didn’t know what the condition was. The driver, whose identity Ellis said he didn’t know, struck a utility pole at Broad and South Logan streets during the chase.

Elyria residents Keith Stone, 20, of the 600 block of Cambridge Avenue, and Fallon Yates, 18, of the 600 block of Oakdale Circle, were each arrested and charged with resisting arrest, failure to comply and obstructing official business. Ellis said both were also wanted on outstanding warrants, but he didn’t know what the warrants were for.

Stone was being held at the Lorain County Jail early this morning in lieu of a $11,184 bond and Yates was being held in lieu of a $25,700 bond. Both are due in Elyria Municipal Court today.
