Barbara Ann “Bobbie” Joy (nee Budziak), 71, of Avon Lake, went to be with the Lord peacefully at home Friday, October 25, 2013, after a short battle with cancer. Bobbie was born December 31, 1941 in Cleveland and was a lifelong resident of the area.
She was a graduate of Parma High School and Kent State University. She was a teacher for many years. Bobbie enjoyed sewing, painting, knitting, crocheting and weaving. She was formerly a member of Bay Presbyterian Church and was currently attending and serving at New Community Baptist Church in Avon. She also spent years on staff at Mountain T.O.P. (Tennessee Outreach Project).
Bobbie is survived by her husband of 47 years, Bill; two sons, Thomas Joy (Jeanine) of Sheffield Lake and Jonathan Joy (Jenni) of Nashville, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Jacob, Marie and Rebecca Joy; and one sister, Joanne Pohlchuck (Kenneth) of Parma.
A celebration of Bobbie’s life will be held Friday, November 1, 2013, 7 P.M., at Bay Presbyterian Church, 25415 Lake Road, Bay Village. Reverend Carol Rettew and Reverend Brian Gardiner will co-officiate.
