Donna Mae Wolfgang (nee Raboin), (formerly Horner and Barr), 79, of Olmsted Township, passed away Friday, October 25, 2013, at The Lutheran Home in Westlake, following a lengthy illness. She was born September 8, 1934 in Winona Minnesota to Charles Thomas and Berniece Mae (nee Beeman) Raboin.
She was raised and attended school in Winona, Elk River and Anoka, Minnesota. She married Robert L. Horner in 1951 in Goodview, Minnesota. Together, they had a family of nine children, first living in Michigan and later settling in Ohio. Donna loved being a homemaker and raising her children. Her homemaking activities carried over into hobbies. She was a seamstress and often made all of her children’s clothing. She enjoyed quilting (her children were kept warm in her amazing quilts), crocheting, embroidery, canning foods and baking. At Christmas time, she was known for baking nearly 30 different kinds of cookies, boxing them up and giving them to family members, churches and nursing homes. She also enjoyed playing bingo.
She is survived by three daughters, Drena Sheppard of Libby, Montana, Susan Harris of Olmsted Township and Bobbi Wenner of Rocky River; four sons, Robin Horner of North Ridgeville, Danny Horner of Milan, Nathan Horner of Coconut Creek, Florida and Ernest Horner of Lorain; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Lucinda Fuller of St. Charles, Minnesota and LuRae Buck of Oregon; and one brother, Dale Jaszewski of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Bonnie Susan Horner and Brenda Sermulis; a granddaughter, Cheri Wheeler; two sisters, Phyllis Bion and Renee Stirneman; and one brother, Wayne Raboin.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 1, 2013, from 11 A.M., until the time of the funeral service at 1 P.M., at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. Pastor Glenn Dunn and Elder R. William Kerr will co-officiate the service. Burial will be at Ridgeville Cemetery in North Ridgeville.
