Shirley Ann Gott

Shirley Ann (nee King) Gott, 82, of Wellington, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013. She was born February 5, 1931 in Huntington, Ohio, to the late Matthew and Marian (nee Holland) King. Shirley was a 1949 graduate of Wellington High School.

Shirley was a homemaker and raised her family on a farm. She will be remembered for her delicious pancakes and Sunday dinners. She had a passion for flowers and gardening. Shirley was at one time employed by Rockwell International and later as a bank teller in Wellington.

She is survived by her siblings, Karen McMichaels and Robert King, both of Wellington; her partner, Don Keller; children, Kevin (Anita) Gott of Raleigh, North Carolina, Kyle (Diane) Gott of Austin, Texas, Kirk (Pat) Gott of Wellington, Cherie (Dr. David) Trimble of Greenville, Ohio and Carrie (Don) Sacco of Brook Park; grandchildren, Kelly (Stephen) Hobbs of Raleigh, North Carolina, Lisa (David) Kushner of Raleigh, North Carolina, Tonya Hart of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Andrew Hart of Fort Worth, Texas, Kristin (Tony) Ott of Amherst Jarrett Gott of Wellington, Jim (Amy) Koontz of Olmsted Falls, Mark (Gail) Koontz of Greenville, Ohio, Ryan (Monica) Sacco of Brunswick and Theresa (Eric) Seman of North Olmsted; great grandchildren, Kathryn Hobbs, Hannah Gott, Mia Ott, Addison Koontz, Lainey Koontz, Braylon Seman, Mackenzie Hart and Connell Hart.

Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Matthew King in March of 1944; mother, Marian King in May of 1996; brother, Richard King in July of 1987; husband, William B. Gott in May of 1995; son, Kermit Gott in January of 1963; companion, Harold Wiles in December of 2007; and her beloved collie, Trixie, in July of 2012.

Visitation will take place Friday, November 1, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington. The funeral service will be Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Paul Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

The family requests donations in Shirley’s memory be made to the First United Methodist Church Serenity Garden, 127 Park Place, Wellington, 44090.
