He was a 1956 graduate of LaGrange High School and served with the U.S. Coast Guard from 1956 to 1960. Al retired from Columbia Gas Company, where he had been employed for 40 years. He was a hard worker and spent much of his time outdoors raising produce that he sold at his vegetable stand on State Route 301. He enjoyed attending Keystone High School softball games and the annual Lorain County Fair.
Al is survived by sons, Kevin J. (Nicole) Myers of LaGrange and Curtis L. (Sally) Myers of Chicago; six grandchildren; stepdaughter, Michele Canfield of LaGrange Township; stepsons, Mike Brigadier of Elyria and Larry Brigadier of Texas; seven step grandchildren; brothers, Jerry and Gordon Myers of Wellington; sisters, Mary Ann Davis of Wellington and Donna Markel of LaGrange.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 24 years, Anna Marie Myers in 2001; an infant daughter, Glenda K. Myers; parents, Glenn and June Myers; and brothers, Ronald and Paul Myers.
Friends will be received Tuesday, November 5, 2013 from 4 to 7 P.M. at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. A Funeral Service will be Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 11 A.M. at LaGrange United Methodist Church, 105 West Main St., LaGrange. Reverend Ralph R. Krall will officiate. Burial will be in River Road Cemetery, LaGrange Township.
