Cleveland off-duty fire lieutenant fatally shot in front of house

CLEVELAND — Police in Cleveland say someone gunned down an off-duty fire department lieutenant in front of his house.

WEWS-TV reports that officers found the 45-year-old victim with multiple gunshots to the chest on Sunday night on the city’s east side.

Police said he had just parked his car and was walking to the house when he was shot. The 15-year fire department veteran died later at a hospital. His name hasn’t been released.

Detectives don’t know who shot him and are looking for the public’s help in solving the crime.
