November Is Diabetes Awareness Month

According to the Lorain County Community Health Assessment from 2011, 13% of adults were living with diabetes. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that diabetes is becoming one of the most common chronic diseases in The United States. What can you do to prevent diabetes? Know your numbers!

 

Blood Pressure- Normal blood pressure is less than 120/80

Cholesterol - HDL: 40 mg/dL or higher
                 -LDL: less than 100 mg/dL
                 -Triglycerides: less than 150 mg/dL
                 -Total Cholesterol: less than 200 mg/dL


Weight- Ask your doctor what your healthy weight range is
