ELYRIA — Despite an almost hour-long search involving Elyria police officers and county sheriff deputies, three men involved in an armed robbery Wednesday remained at large.

Around 2 p.m. Wednesday, three men — two of whom had guns — entered Domino’s Pizza at 1405 East Ave. and demanded money from the employees.

After taking an undisclosed amount of money, the men ran south down East Avenue, according to Lorain County sheriff’s Sgt. Heath Tester.

All three men were black and one was wearing a black jacket and tan pants while another was wearing a red hat, according to Lorain County sheriff’s Lt. Donald Barker.

Tester said the manager followed the men and chased them to the Wilkes Villa housing complex, where he told police a couple of the men ran into one of the apartments. Officers searched the complex for almost an hour to no avail.
