LORAIN — Terry Hines, the man accused of hitting a police car on Sept. 24, pleaded not guilty to failure to control, unsafe operation around an emergency vehicle and failure to stop after an accident.

Hines was cited following the crash at 9:25 p.m. at 4037 Lake Road.

The police car, driven by Officer James Simone — known by his moniker “Supercop,” sustained damages to the driver’s side door. Simone narrowly missed being struck by the vehicle and was uninjured.

Hines, 60, later fled from the scene, police said.
