Margaret Kosonovich

kosonovichMargaretMargaret Kosonovich (nee Logar), 84, of Lorain, died Sunday, November 24, 2013 while surrounded by her family at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin, after a lengthy illness. She was born December 5, 1928 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Margaret graduated from Lorain High School and worked for many years as a lunch monitor in the cafeteria at Homewood School in Lorain.

Margaret was a member of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Lorain and the former St. John Catholic Church, where she volunteered with the church carnival and Mother’s Club. She was a member of the AARP and the KSKJ Slovenian Lodge. She enjoyed knitting, ceramics and scrapbooking.

She is survived by her children, Christine Kosonovich of Sheffield Lake, Ruth Milner (Ken) of Dresher, Pennsylvania and John Kosonovich (Kim) of Lorain; grandchildren, Zachary Milner of Dresher, Pennsylvania, Dr. Adrienne Milner (Paul McGee) of Birmingham, Alabama and Olivia Kosonovich of Lorain; sister, Paulette Hayslette (Mavis) of LaGrange and Susan Hammond (Bud) of Monticello, Kentucky; and brothers Tim Logar (Jane) of Amherst and Lloyd Logar (Nancy) of Brea, California.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel E. Kosonovich on March 1, 2012; parents, James and Gertrude Logar (nee Stipe); brothers, Dick and Tom Logar; and sister, Gertrude Gross.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 10 A.M. in the Funeral Chapel followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church, 2143 Homewood Dr., Lorain. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
