Betty C. Sheak (nee Schmitz), 87, of Fostoria, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013, at Good Shepherd Home. She was born in Cleveland and had been a resident of Avon for 41 years, before moving to Fostoria.
Betty worked at American Greetings as a card designer for many years. She was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in Avon. She enjoyed drawing and quilting in her free time.
Survivors include her sons, Joe Sheak of Fostoria, Jim (Denise) Sheak of Uniontown; daughters, Jean (Vic) Hura of Carmel, Indiana, Julie Sheak of Rocky River; grandchildren, Tim and Billy Sheak; brother, Roy Schmitz of Fairview Park; and sisters, Dorothy Loescher of Lorain and Gert Rodriguez of Fairview Park.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilber Sheak in 2003; parents, Joseph and Adeline Schmitz; brothers, Al and Joe Schmitz; and sisters, Grace Thran, Ruth Grogg, Bea Roberts and Rosemary Passerell.
Friends may call Sunday, December 1, 2013, from 2 until 5 P.M., at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, where a prayer service will be held Monday, December 2, 2013, at 10 A.M., followed by a 10:30 A.M. Mass at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 3640 Stoney Ridge Rd., Avon. Reverend Thomas Cleaton, Pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Avon.
