Officers were called to the 100 block of Mendel Court at 8:36 p.m. for a burglary in progress and arrived to find three people running from the scene. One of the suspects, the 15-year-old boy, led police on a chase over several fences and through yards on Furnace Street.
The boy was apprehended at Cascade Park and charged with burglary. Police said he had blood streaming down his face. LifeCare was called to treat the boy’s injuries.
The boy denied going into the home and said he was waiting for his two friends. Police said entry was gained into the home through a broken window, and fingerprints were lifted from the scene.
Officers searched the area for the other two suspects with no results, according to a police report.
