A native of Stuttgart, Germany, she met her husband, Donald, when he was stationed there while serving in the United States Army. She returned with him to the United States in 1960 and was proud to become a United States citizen. Residents of Elyria for 30 years, they owned and operated Sanford Rose Associates, an executive recruiting firm. She moved to Pinellas Park in 2004 and settled in the Mainlands community.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pinellas Park. She was actively involved in in community activities at the Mainlands and could be seen frequently at the swimming pool. She derived great joy from spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Hedwig Niedworok; and her husband of 31 years, Donald E. Leedy.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Stephen A. Leedy and daughter-in-law, Lynda M. Leedy of St. Petersburg; her daughter, Anita M. George and son-in-law, Eric George of Redmond, Washington; her grandchildren, Laszio M. Leedy, Eli C. George and Abigail N. George; and her brother, Georg (Birgit) Suhr of Stuttgart, Germany.
There will be a visitation and catered reception from 4 to 8 P.M., Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Anderson-McQueen funeral home, 2201-Dr. ML King Street N. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 A.M., Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A graveside service under the direction of Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St., Elyria, at 1 P.M., Saturday, December 7, 2013 at St. Mary Cemetery, 7284 Lake Avenue, Elyria.
