The driver of a Ford F-250 was injured in single-vehicle crash in Elyria Township Monday night.
At 7:20 p.m., Stanley Langford, 46, of the 9100 block of Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, was traveling northbound on Murray Ridge Road when he failed to negotiate the curve at the intersection with Griswold Road, according to a news release from the State Highway Patrol.
Langford drove off the left side of the roadway and struck a utility pole before coming to rest on the north side of the road, according to the release.
Langford, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was transported to EMH Elyria Medical Center, according to the release. He has since been released. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
According to the State Highway Patrol, alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash. The crash is under investigation, and charges are pending.
Griswold and Murray Ridge roads were closed after the crash because of downed power lines. About 1,500 Ohio Edison customers in Amherst Township and Elyria Township lost electricity, according to an Ohio Edison spokesman.
