Brian Howard Smith, 61, of Blacksburg and Eggleston, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2013. Brian was born March 25, 1952 in Oberlin, to the late Charles C. and Barbara Eileen (Rogers) Smith.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Peggy (Young) Smith of Blacksburg and Eggleston; son and daughter-in-law, Trevor and Danielle Gray of Blacksburg; son, Tyler Finnegan of Birmingham, Michigan; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Kathy Smith of Oberlin, Brent and Sandra Smith of Oberlin; and several nieces and nephews.
Brian graduated from the University of Colorado (go Buffaloes!) and eventually settled in Blacksburg, Virginia, where he was a financial advisor with Edward Jones for 24 years.
Brian was active with the Warm Hearth Foundation for many years and recently enjoyed his membership with the Pearisburg Lions Club.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 6, 2013 from 6 to 8 P.M. at McCoy Funeral Home, in Blacksburg, Virginia. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 11 A.M. at Blacksburg Christian Church, also in Blacksburg, Virginia, with a reception to follow at The Inn at Virginia Tech.
