Camden A. (Ted) Rigg, Jr., 71, of Elyria, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Ames Family Hospice in Westlake, after a courageous battle with cancer for over 14 years. Ted was born in Elyria on March 15, 1942 and was a graduate of Elyria High School.
He was a devoted employee of Plastic Enterprises in Elyria for 38 years. A member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, he loved his family “more than they knew” and cherished his grandchildren. He enjoyed scouting with his sons, loved music, trains and always kept an eye on the weather.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn M. (nee Gilles) of 38 years; one daughter, Rebecca (Frank) Reed of Spencer; two sons, Jeff (Nicole) Rigg of Columbus, David Rigg of Grafton; and five grandchildren, Tristan, Jack, Tessa, Delaney and Leo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Camden A. and Marie (nee Youngberg) Rigg.
Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Friday, December 6, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Closing prayers will be in the funeral home Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 9:30 A.M. followed by Mass at St. Agnes Church, 611 Lake Avenue, Elyria. The Reverend Father Albert Viegas and Father Thomas Gilles will officiate. Burial will be in Ridgehill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to St. Agnes Church.
